Tibetan Buddhism is not only practiced in Tibet but has spread throughout the Himalayan region and Central Asia. There are four main schools in Tibetan Buddhism: Nyingma, Kagya, Sakya and Gelug; with several smaller schools and movements. The common beliefs and traditions in Tibetan Buddhism include tantric practices, deity yoga, and the aspiration to attain Buddhahood.

Tibetan Buddhism has become widely known throughout the world and although the teachings and traditions can be experienced in many other places, undertaking a pilgrimage to Tibet is a worthwhile experience. Our pilgrimage explores the region from Chengdu in China to Kandze in Tibet, passing through the regions of Kham and Amdo. Along the way we will visit holy sites such as Samantabhadra, Kanding, Kandze Monastery and Khangmar Monastery.

Discover hidden monasteries, nunneries, and hermitages set against the spectacular backdrop of holy lakes, mountain ranges and the wildly beautiful Tibetan plateau. Our pilgrimage will be led by a Tibetan Geshe and Venerable Kartson from Australia, both of whom will offer spiritual guidance and insight throughout the pilgrimage.

Our upcoming pilgrimages to Tibet are currently being developed, with itineraries and dates to be announced in the near future. Please contact us or join our mailing list if you have any specific queries about pilgrimages to Tibet or if you would like to stay up to date with new and upcoming tours.
