is our local Tour Manager who comes from Naddi – a small, picturesque village above Dharamsala in the Indian State of Himachal Pradesh. He is passionate about the area and the Himalaya. Since leaving school he worked as a porter then as a trekking guide from Dharamsala to Ladakh, in the remote Himalayas. Vikas completed his tertiary education part-time whilst working as a guide; since then he has taken groups throughout India and Nepal. Vikas’ gentle nature, passion for history and the culture of India, combined with his local networks, makes him
the perfect guide to ensure the safety and well-being of his tour groups.


Day 1

28 December 2018 - Delhi

You will be met by Angela’s representative at the International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Delhi.  Rest of the day at leisure.Overnight Delhi.
Day 2

29 December 2018 - Delhi

We start our Delhi experience with Sultanate Delhi Tour – an introduction to the city, QuatabMinar and surrounds.  Here we unearth layers of history and see and learn about architectural features of different time periods all in one place.  Visit a country home of a British Viceroy and Mughal emperor and a Sufi Shrine in Mehrauli Village.  You will also see birds and butterflies in the Archeological Park that we take a stroll through.

Rest of the day at one of the bustling bazaars of Delhi.  Tonight, you will be our guest for our Welcome Dinner.  Overnight Delhi

Delhi is a vibrant city, the most important city of the region, has an unbelievable amount of history as well as very rich cultural past.

Day 3

30 December 2018 - Agra

Morning drive to Agra, arriving in time to plenty of free time to explore Agra including the Agra Fort.

The Taj Mahal, is the world’s most grand monument to love, built by Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz. However, not all love stories have happy endings, Shah Jahan was imprisoned in Agra Fort by his son and where he spent his final years. Overnight Agra

Day 4

31 December 2018 - Jaipur – New Years Eve

Sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal.  The Taj Mahal is India’s most-photographed monument, and today you’ll see why. Built between 1632 and 1653 in memory of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan’s third wife, the Taj Mahal is world-renowned and widely admired.

After the Taj, return to your hotel for breakfast and travel to Jaipur, the Pink City by car, stopping on the way for tea at the Viceroy Club so well known on the movie now the “Second Best Marigold Hotel” (locally known as the Narain Niwas Palace).

Arriving late in the afternoon,  time for a short rest  for your New Year’s Eve celebrations on the lawns of Diggi Palace.  See the old year out with fireworks and festivities, Indian style with colour and zest.  It’s time to dress up in your sparkles and enjoy your New Year’s Eve festivities.  A night to remember!

Day 5

1 January 2019 - Jaipur

A New Year begins and on your second day in Jaipur you’ll visit the magnificent Amber Fort as a group.

Amber Fort was built in 1592; and it has seen renovations and improvements for over two centuries! Its name is said to derive from the many jewels that are used for decoration inside…see for yourself!

After visiting the fort, you will have the rest of the afternoon to continue to explore Jaipur. Visit  theHawa Mahal, City Palace or do some more shopping at the famous Jahori Bazaar or  check out a Bollywood film at the famous Raj Mandir cinema. Overnight Jaipur.

Day 6

2 January 2019 - Jodhpur

After breakfast travel to Jodhpur, arriving in the early afternoon (5 hours) and settle into your hotel.

Jodhpur is known as the “Blue City” owing to the many blue houses with the backdrop of the Mehrangarh Fort, one of the largest in India.  Why not head to Sadar Bazaar, one of the oldest markets in India, for handicrafts and antiques.  The diversity of what’s on offer is impressive.  Overnight Jodhpur

Day 7

3 January 2019 - Jodhpur

Start the day off right with a delicious Omelette and a famous Makhanilassi, one of many Indian delicacies that originated in Jodphur,  before heading to the Mehrangarh Fort, one of the largest in India, to take in the sweeping view of the city.

You can either have the late afternoon free or attend a cooking class at a local family’s house and sample your cooking with traditional Indian spices (taste the difference).  Overnight Jodhpur

Day 8

4 January 2019 - Jodhpur

After breakfast, optional visit to Bishnoi village. There you will be able to have a close look at the rural culture of Rajasthan, experiencing Bishnoi culture.  The Bishnoivillage is famous for its’ true love to nature and animals and you will have an opportunity to visit Bishnoi families & meet village people. You will be able to see weavers, potters and block printers at their work.

The Bishnoi religion is well known for their eco-friendly attitude and their efforts in preserving tree and animals. Overnight Jodhpur

Day 9

5 January 2019 - Khempur

Your next destination is  – The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel – famous for where the movie of the same name was shot on location in a small town called Khempur.  Check in and spend the late afternoon strolling through this small village and sampling some of local life. Overnight Khempur
Day 10

6 January 2019 - Khempur

Spend today quietly around the local village and the hotel. Take the time to contemplate where Judi Dench or Maggie Smith might have enjoyed their ‘post lunch’ chai. Or simply take advantage of the time to indulge and have a massage. Overnight Khempur.
Day 11

7 January 2019 - Udaipur

After breakfast we will take a short drive to Udaipur.  Arrive in Udaipur, in time for lunch and transfer by rickshaw from the transport to your hotel.

Udaipur, also known as the City of Lakes, is one of India’s most picturesque cities. Palaces surround the city, the most famous being The Lake Palace, which covers an entire island and was featured in the James Bond film Octopussy. The city was founded in 1559 and was the capital of the Mewar kingdom. There’s no doubt you’ll enjoy this relaxing, seductive city.

Relax on your orientation walk of this beautiful city so you can get your bearings. The rest of the day/evening will be yours to relax and explore the city. Overnight Udaipur

Day 12

8 January 2019 - Udaipur

After a late breakfast visit the massive City Palace and boat ride on the Lake Pichola.   Afternoon visit to Bagore-ki-Haveli, a beautiful Haveli, housing an interesting art gallery featuring contemporary and a local dance performance.

Dinner tonight is at the UdaigarhHotel  which overlooks the stunning Lake Pichola, the City Palace and enjoy the sweeping views and many treasures housed inside.  Overnight Udaipur

Day 13

9 January 2019 - Delhi

After breakfast leave for your flight to Delhi, transfer to hotel. Rest of the day is yours to pick up that bargain to take home, visit or revisit any of the sites that you are interested in including India Gate, Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk and Raj Ghat (the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi) or Rajpath.  Our final night is our farewell dinner.  Overnight Delhi
Day 14

10 January 2019 - Tour Ends

This morning our trip will sadly come to an end as a group before we bid our farewells.
