Pyramids, Sphinx & Egyptian Museum

We will then visit the Guardian Angel of the area, the monolithic Sphinx. The Sphinx is a mythical creature with the body of a lion and head of a human. Carved entirely from limestone, it sits proudly facing the horizon and greets the sunrise as it has done daily for centuries.
The day still has more treasures in store with a visit to the Egyptian Museum, home to thousands upon thousands of artefacts including the famous golden mask of the young King Tutankhamun. Our guide will explain the significance of the artefacts before allowing you plenty of free time to explore at your leisure. In the evening we will return to the hotel for dinner.

Edfu & Kom Ombo Temples

The Temple of KomOmbo is the only dual temple in Egypt and dedicated to the two gods Haroeris, the sun god and Sobek, the crocodile god. This temple is just a short stroll from your boat and has a fascinating history including hieroglyphic carvings showing medical instruments still used in the present day.
In the evening we will enjoy a party on board the boat.

Aswan - Abu Simbel

The Temples of Abu Simbel are cut deep into the rockface and are dedicated to the Pharaoh Ramses II and his beloved wife Nefertari. Fascinatingly, these temples were moved in the 1960s with the help of UNSECO. They were moved to their current location to save them from the rising waters of the Nile, a monumental feat of engineering in itself and once you have visited this site you will see why.
Upon our return to Aswan we will enjoy lunch on-board our cruise boat. This afternoon we will relax as we gently cruise the picturesque Nile River in Aswan with a trip on a traditional Egyptian sailing boat called a felucca. These boats are much the same as the Pharaohs used in ancient times.
